Kahan, Ya'akov

Kahan, Ya'akov
(1881-1960)
   Hebrew poet and playwright of Russian origin. Born in Slutsk, Russia, he moved to Lodz, Poland. His first collection of poetry appeared after he moved to Berne, Switzerland. There he founded Ivriyyah, an inter-national organization for Hebrew language and culture and edited the journal Ha'ivri hehadash.
